“2011 Singer/Songwriter Competition Winners”
Vacaville, CA (March 21, 2011) - The stars continue to shine in Downtown Vacaville during the 2nd Annual “Singer-
Songwriter Competition” that was hosted by the Downtown merchants association (Downtown Vacaville Business
Improvement District). Last week the finals were held at the Opera House in Downtown Vacaville with 17 contestants
vying for the top musical spots. This year’s competition divided the contestants into an under 18 years of age and an 18
and over category. This allowed for more competitors in the finals and the evening was an unbelievable night of original
musical entertainment. There was a “Live” video broadcast of the event that was featured on the Downtown’s web site
that had people watching from across the globe (as far away as France and Ireland). The judges had a very hard time at
the end of the performances and it took them longer than expected to decide on the winners.
The winners in the Under 18 category are:
1st Place “The Traveling Trees”
2nd Place “Robbie Gardunio
3rd Place “Amanda & Haley Wooing”
The winners for the 18 and over category are:
1st Place “Jason Cale”
2nd Place “Jesse Woodside
3rd Place “Robbie Jimenez
Honorable mentions go out to Lauren Cameron, Alex Garza, Rachel Hanna, Ashlyn & Molly, Bill Scholer, Josiah
Richter, Jordy & Tyler, Andre Calbert, Michael Howard, Erin Solomon, and Christal Styles.

“2012 Singer/Songwriter Winners Announced”
The Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District’s “Singer-Songwriter Competition” finished up with 13 great performances
on Tuesday night at the Opera House. The 13 finalists vying for top spot in the solo and/or duo categories were outstanding.
Terry Sheets and Rick Morgan, of the Terry Sheets Rockin’ Country Band, opened things up as the hosts for the evening with three
of their original songs. They talked about their music and how the songs came about and had the house rockin’ by the third song.
The under 18 performers:
Were the first contestants up for the evening and the talent that was displayed was outstanding.
Samantha Faye took top honors
Parker Beene as the runner up
Both artists sang wonderful, original songs and the judges had them within a few points of each other. Judging was based on the
song writing and performance.
In the duo category:
First place went to Stephen Schneider and Carson Knutson with Amanda and Haley taking the second spot. All contestants did a
fantastic job and had the packed house mesmerized.
In the over 18 category:
Winner was Justin Catanzaro with his energetic performance of his original song about standing in the rain (and it was raining hard
last night). Eric Willett took the second position with his outstanding performance of his original song.
The duo honors:
Went to Stephanie and Rich
With the brother team of Charles and Donovan as the runners up.
Go to Katie Haggard, Marla Harvey and Ben Rivera, Kim Snyder, and Loraine Meek.
The winners received a cash award and prizes donated by the local Downtown merchants. The winners will also be featured in
upcoming Downtown events like the Wine Stroll on Saturday May 5th in Town Square starting at 4 pm.
