For Immediate Release:

Young Artists Conservatory of Music assumes operation of Solano Youth Theatre
Vacaville,  Ca. April 14, 2011 – With enthusiasm and extreme dedication to the ongoing presence of excellence in community
arts, Young Artists Conservatory of Music (YACM), a 501 (c3) non-profit organization, plans to ensure Solano Youth Theatre’
s quality theatre program maintains a string educational and performing arts presence in our community.

Wanda L. Cook, Artistic Director of Young Artists Musical Theatre announced today that she has reached a tentative
agreement with Solano College Theatre Association to assume operation of the theatre’s highly regarded youth division
known as Solano Youth Theatre (SYT).  Ms. Cook has been in talks for several weeks with staff members at Solano Youth
Theatre and Solano College Theatre with the intent of maintaining SYT’s operations and reputation for providing the public
with family friendly quality musical theatre production and arts education programming.

Young Artists Conservatory of Music (YACM) a non- profit arts organization has long provided Solano and the surrounding
counties with quality musical instruction and a variety of live musical events to the public.  Award-winning Solano Youth
Theatre has served as the flagship for musical theatre for young people for nearly a decade.  When Solano College
announced in early March that it could no longer afford operation of the division, Ms. Cook contacted Robin Stanton, SYT
Program Director to discuss taking over operation.  “YAMT is an established arts education institution with a passion for
music performance.” said Program Director Robin Stanton, “Wanda and I quickly agreed that it was a perfect fit.”

While Solano Youth Theatre will move its office headquarters into the beautiful Victorian office space that is now home to
YACM, she plans to continue operation of SYT in its three satellite cities of Vacaville, Suisun City and Vallejo.  “SYT will now
be a division of the Young Artists Conservatory but we intend to operate Solano Youth Theatre much in the same way that it
operated under Solano College Theatre Association.” says Ms. Cook.  “It has been a very successful model and we want to
maintain the programming much in the same way including rehearsal schedules and the hiring of some familiar faces among
artist/instructors and staff.  Many who have taught for SYT in the past have already indicated their interest to join us in the
future.”

YACM will launch the SYT programming as soon as this summer by offering a Summer Musical Theatre Camp for K-12
students.  In the fall, there will be a Munchkin Theatre production performed by students ranging from grades 1 through 6.
A major musical will be produced with students in grades 7 through 12.  A smooth transition is expected as final documents
are being drafted between the two organizations.  It is anticipated that the transition of management will take place on June
1, 2011. At that time, YACM intends to officially announce production titles for the 2011/2012 season.

There is even an exiting musical development in the works.  Because the Conservatory has an extremely talented core of
young and experienced musicians, Solano Youth Theatre productions may for the first time include live orchestras
accompanying the performances. “I have had a long standing desire that the youth theatre arts program also showcased
the talents of young musicians in the pit.  This could be a dream come true.”  says Holli Hornlien, SYT Program Coordinator.
